This is Braves Country!

BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN! BRAVES WIN!
I just happened to be off this past Thursday and the Braves just happened to be playing that night, so we decided we'd trek the 3 hour drive to and from Atlanta in one day for the sake of seeing one of their greats before retiring. The extra special part is that my dad and brother were able to make as well. My pops is the ultimate fan, the man truly loves the game of baseball and my brother grew up watching Chipper. I was partial to David Justice. Not sure why, I understand baseball- my brother played for 10+ years and I even played some softball for awhile- but I can't say I follow games, seasons, stats, RBIs and ERAs and all that ESPNsy stuff. It was a great game and I got to enjoy that experience with my dad and brother who love and appreciate all its' awesomeness. Here are a few pics, admittedly they aren't the best, I need to get a zoom lens for these type occasions.

So I got a fairly  close close-up of the man himself, #10 Chipper Jones.
And here when we won!
I had to throw this one in. I'm a FreemanFan myself. He did hit the homer that put them in the playoffs! Annnnd THIS IS BRAVES COUNTRY. I wanted to put a big yellow arrow to the man in the center #5 Freddie Freeman and one to the title of this post itself, but adobe/photoshop savvy I am not...yet!

sweet and simple

The other day Josh brought me home some pretty and pretty surprising flowers from the grocery store. The kicker is they were a budget friendly sort of surprise, which for a young and newly married couple who decided to move back into their parents' house for the sake of saving some money and living like no one, so we can one day live like no one (more on that one day) is a plus plus. SCORE! And I got them for no reason at all- just because- happy day flowers! :)
The surprising part about the flowers in particular is that I have never been much of a sunflower kinda gall. I'm more of a danty, simple, chic, sweet flower kinda girl- if you couldn't tell, I know what I like and I like me some tulips ;)- but once I got them cut down and plopped into my OJ glass jar they didn't seem so big, bold, loud, and yellow- never judge a book... or flower!

Here's how I cut them. Pretty simple and I'm sure you've seen or heard to cut the stems at an angle- at least that's what we've heard is proper/best. : / ?
Here's how I 'configured' how much to cut off. Rocket science, I know! Actually, I did this with a few of the stems, then I just guesstimated/eyeballed/cut without thinking. Then, because all of my vases were packed tightly in our storage unit, I used what we had, which happened to be a glass jar for juice.
Then I added one packet of the flower food that came with each bundle and presto, we're done.

Sweet and simple and for no reason at all- just because- happy day flowers!
